Outside In's aims and methods of working were developed through conversations with senior professionals including Dr Valerie Sinason, Professor Zenobia Nadirshaw, Dr Joseph Berke, Dr Roman Raczca, Heather Honour from Mencap leading the Disability Coalition and Dr Paul Swift. Artists including Tony Bevan and Bill Smith also contributed ideas towards the project. Charlie Levinson and Big Ears Multimedia Training supported and helped to teach the filming and editing activities. Members of the Lyndon Arts Trust provided practical and organisational assistance. Outside In is a voluntary organisation and as such is continuously fundraising. Grants have been received so far from a variety of sources including, The Baily Thomas Charitable Fund, the Lottery Fund, Lord Cholmondeley, Mencap, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the RTR Foundation.
You can watch our video just below this text. This video was made by the Outside In group in collaboration with Big Ears Multi-Media, as an educational and artistic project involving a wide rang of people with learning disabilities and their carers. The film was part of a pilot project which also included workshops in explorative photography and collage making. Technical support was provided by Repeat Performance Multimedia.
Outside In is currently aiming to raise funds for similar projects.
